‘Not the Jordans’ Financial Remedies Day conference – Newcastle, an overwhelming success!

Over a hundred delegates attended the ‘Not the Jordans’ Financial Remedies Seminar at the All Saints Church in Newcastle. District Judge Nicola Shaw (retired) introduced our great line up of speakers. Keynote speaker, The Right Honourable Baroness Hale of Richmond give a fantastic insight into how she got to where she is today.

Other speakers and their topics included surprise guest, Her Honour Judge Victoria Moreton, the new Financial Remedies Lead for Cleveland, Northumbria and Durham, Oluwapelumi ‘Amanda’ Adeola – Partner & Solicitor Advocate, BHP Law “Maintenance from an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Perspective” Mr Christopher Hames KC – Barrister, 4PB Chambers “H-N and the Impact of Domestic Abuse on Financial Remedies”, Miss Katie Deans – Our Family Wizard “2023 Update”, Emily Ward – Barrister, Broadway House Chambers “Matrimonial or Non-Matrimonial?… That is the Question” and our very own Mr Crispin Oliver – Barrister, Dere Street Barristers “Hot Topics – Case Law Round Up”

The event was also attended by Durham University students, who, amongst others, joined a post conference reception held at Trinity House, hosted by Jonathan Walker-Kane and Crispin Oliver, where all guests had the opportunity to meet and socialise with Lady Hale and other esteemed speakers.
