Jordan Parkinson secures suspended sentence order for a woman who was subject to the third-strike provisions for class A drugs

October 22, 2025

Jordan Parkinson was instructed by Paul Armstrong of Armstrong Westgarth Law Ltd to represent a woman who was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Jordan successfully advanced that there are particular circumstances which relate to both the offence and to the offender that would make it unjust to impose that statutory minimum 7-year sentence.

Miss Parkinson argued there have been no further offences since this offence in 2020, her 2 previous convictions which rendered her subject to the 3rd strike provisions were in 2003 and 2006, highlighting the client can live a law-abiding life when drug free. Offending was entirely linked to her own heroin addiction and has since turned her life around, set up her own business, subject to regular drug testing and is hoping to become sole carer for her grandchildren.
