Ruth is an experienced civil practitioner specialising in the areas of personal injury, clinical negligence, and credit hire. Ruth has a wealth of experience in personal injury litigation and is instructed by both claimants and defendants (RTA/EL/PL). She is instructed in Fast Track and Multi Track proceedings, Costs and Case Management Conferences, interlocutory hearings, and disposal hearings. She accepts instructions in cases ranging from a relatively modest value, to claims of significant complexity involving injuries of the maximum severity.

A significant area of Ruth’s personal injury practice involves claims arising out of road traffic accidents. She is highly experienced and practices nationwide in cases involving Low Velocity Impact, the Motor Insurance Bureau, staged and induced accidents, bogus passengers and phantom witnesses and exaggerated personal injury and damage.

Morris v MCE Insurance (2018 Leeds County Court – HHJ Gosnell)

Acting for the Appellant – Held on appeal that, a) a Claimant is bound by their signature to a credit hire agreement, b) Irving v Morgan Sindall (contingent liabilities) applies and c) that even if a credit hire agreement was somehow unenforceable, Bee v Jenson (the recovery of credit hire charges as a measure of general damages) would apply.
