Marc Atkins

Marc completed pupillage with the Crown Prosecution Service in 2021, after which he was quickly promoted to the position of Senior Crown Prosecutor. Marc appeared daily in the Magistrates’ and Youth courts on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service, primarily prosecuting trial courts. Known for his thorough preparation and effective questioning of witnesses, Marc often prosecuted cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, including allegations of coercive and controlling behaviour, staking, harassment, non-fatal strangulation and revenge pornography. He successfully prosecuted a two-day trial of causing serious injury by careless driving, which involved cross-examining multiple expert witnesses, an evidence-led prosecution which involved a prolonged episode of domestic abuse and a trial in which multiple youths had caused serious injuries to the victim.

Marc has also appeared in the Crown Court in various sentencing hearings where he was commended by members of the judiciary for his preparation and valuable sentencing notes.

Prior to commencing pupillage Marc appeared in the County Court on behalf of individuals and companies in road traffic claims, contractual disputes and landlord and tenant proceedings. Marc also has experience of working on Criminal Appeals and Prison Law cases.
