Grace Atkinson

Grace joined chambers following successful completion of her common law pupillage in October 2022.

Under the supervision of Frazer McDermott, Grace developed a keen interest in family law. Grace has experience representing Local Authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians in public law proceedings. She also represents applicants and respondents in private law proceedings. Within her first year of practice Grace has acted in cases involving allegations of non-accidental injuries, sexual abuse, domestic violence and chronic neglect.

Prior to commencing her pupillage, Grace was undertaking her Bar Training Course full-time whilst living and studying at Gray’s Inn as a residential scholar. Alongside her studies, she worked with the Vocalise programme, teaching key debating skills to male prisoners in London. In addition to this, she volunteered for a wide range of organisations and charities including Griffin Law, Domestic Abuse Stops Here and Globalteer. As such, Grace has experience in supporting vulnerable individuals and those from differing backgrounds.
