Eleanor Irons

Eleanor specialises in all areas of family law, with a particular emphasis on Private Children and Financial Remedies.

Eleanor’s practice currently encompasses modest value financial remedy matters, she also accepts instructions for financial provision under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.

Eleanor has a broad experience of private children; her practice ranges from complex private law disputes involving alleged parental alienation to allegations of serious sexual and physical abuse, including non-accidental injuries. Eleanor accepts instructions from initial hearings and urgent applications to multi-day contested trials.

Eleanor is regularly instructed to act on behalf of local authorities, family members, and children in public law proceedings. Eleanor has experience of cases involving allegations of non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, domestic violence and chronic neglect as well as matters with jurisdictional complexities and placement outside of the jurisdiction.

Notable Cases

Re W (2021)

Represented a parent in care proceedings in a 10-day finding of fact hearing defending allegations of physical abuse/ NAI.

Re M (2021)

Represented a local authority in finding of fact hearing which concerned allegations of physical abuse.

Re D (2021)

Represented a Local Authority throughout the entire proceedings whereby a child was placed with family members outside of the jurisdiction.
