Yasim Ismael sentenced for the killing of his friend while he was seriously mentally unwell.

David Lamb KC leading Andrew Walker represented the Defendant, who had entered a plea to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at an earlier hearing. Sentencing him today, His Honour Judge Paul Sloan KC said “No sentence I am permitted by law to impose could even begin to ease the pain and suffering the deceased’s family and friends have suffered and will continue to suffer as a result of your actions.”
Ismael was sentenced to a hospital order with a restriction order for the protection of the public.
