Richard Herrmann successfully prosecutes anaesthetist nurse convicted of attempted murder.
January 29, 2025
Richard Herrmann successfully prosecuted Darren Harris who was yesterday convicted of attempted murder following a trial at Leeds Crown Court. Mr. Harris, a specialist anaesthetist nurse with over 25 years’ experience, worked at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. Harris stole a muscle paralysing drug from the hospital which he used to inject into a wholly innocent victim in an apparently entirely motiveless and indiscriminate attack. The victim was working alone in his shop in Northallerton at the time of the attack; he quickly went into respiratory arrest and would have died had it not been for the quick and decisive actions of members of the public and the care he received from the emergency services.
