The jury heard evidence that the Defendant had a successful business selling class A drugs and often used violent enforcement methods. The Defendant and two others beat the deceased with a baseball bat, punched and kicked him and then left him in the middle of a road.
He was given a 20 year minimum term. In sentencing Mr Justice Nicol said that this was a cowardly attack by three men on a single and particularly vulnerable victim, which took place on a public road and caused understandable fear in the community.
