R -v- Helena Atay

Laurie Scott and John Elvidge QC represented the prosecution in the high profile trial of Helena Karine Atay, who unlawfully killed her husband Atakan Atay and claimed, unsuccessfully, that she had acted in self-defence after being subjected to coercive control. Media coverage can be found here

George Stephenson sentenced to 28 Years and 4 months imprisonment and Wendy Stephenson to 3 years 10 months

  Anne Richardson represented the Crown in the prosecution of a multiple rapist, George Stephenson who tried to evade justice by pretending to be wheelchair-bound and mentally impaired has been sentenced today, after being caught out by a police surveillance operation.  His wife, Wendy Stephenson was also convicted of offences against the same victim.  More […]
