Kate Branigan QC

We are delighted to announce that Kate Branigan QC has accepted an invitation to become a Door Tenant at Dere Street Barristers.
Kate is an accomplished family law specialist with a particular interest in complex public law proceedings involving non-accidental injury, infant death, factitious illness, and neglect. She is a member of 4pb (4 paper buildings) called in 1985 and appointed Queens Council in 2006.
Back in 2019 Kate was instructed to lead Elizabeth Lugg of Counsel in a factitious illness case before Peel J in the High Court. Dere Street had four advocates instructed in the case which ran several weeks. Kate not only impressed her Junior but other juniors from chambers and has since been instructed by several of our group to lead them in complex cases, including Head of Group, Tim Donnelly.
The Dere Street family clerks, have an established working relationship with the clerks at 4pb. Their Head of Chambers, Alex Verdan QC is also a door tenant of Dere Street.
