Jamie Johnston appointed to British Canoeing Disciplinary and Appeals Panel

Dere Street Barrister tenant Jamie Johnston has been appointed to the Disciplinary, Disputes and Appeals Panel for British Canoeing, the national governing body for paddlesports. British Canoeing is responsible for leading the development of the sport from leisure activity through to Olympic competition. In his role as a panel member, Jamie will sit as part of a hearing panel to decide the outcome of hearings on disciplinary matters affecting paddlesport participants in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Before coming to the Bar, Jamie Johnston was a professional sports coach and personal trainer working with international athletes and enthusiastic amateurs. He competed at national level in hockey and running. He is using this experience and knowledge in the development of a sports law practice.
