Jamie Johnston and Seth Kitson help local students with interview skills

Dere Street tenants Jamie Johnston and Seth Kitson recently spent two evenings talking to over 70 students at the universities of Northumbria and Newcastle. They were joined by solicitors from Mincoffs Solicitors, Gordon Brown Law Firm, Watson Burton LLP and The Richmond Partnership to tell students about some of the toughest interview questions they’ve faced and how to answer them. The evenings concluded with a question and answer session followed by informal networking over drinks.
The sessions were organised by Jamie Johnston, part of the Dere Street pupillage committee, in collaboration with the student law societies at the respective universities. The evenings also promoted Dere Street’s new assessed and funded mini-pupillage scheme that aims to help get more pupillage applications from parts of society under represented at the Bar.
