Dere Street’s Pupil Deck

September 23, 2024

We are looking forward to our 5 new pupils, Hawa Jogi, Jessica Noble, Zackeray Fixter, Laura Peto
and Jillian Newton commencing their pupillage on 30th of September 2024. Each week, leading up to their start, we shall be introducing each of them individually.

The limelight this week goes to Hawa Jogi – General Common Law Pupil

Hawa studied Law at the University of Liverpool and completed a year abroad at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. She later undertook the BTC in London alongside her LLM.

Hawa joins Chambers from Kingsley Napley LLP, where she has been a Senior Paralegal in the Public Law team since August 2021. She gained valuable experience in inquests, public inquiries, and judicial review.  Alongside her role, Hawa volunteered with Z2K (Zacchaeus 2000 Trust), representing clients in welfare benefit appeals at the first-tier tribunal.

During her studies, Hawa worked as a legal assistant in Australia, providing support on family, employment, and clinical negligence cases. She was also actively involved in pro-bono projects, through her university law clinic, the Citizens Advice Bureau, United Legal Access, and the Brain Charity.

Hawa is eager to start her pupillage, contribute to Chambers, and build new connections.

Hawa’s pupillage will be under the supervision of Ruth Phillips
