“Coroner concludes accident where a man died when the chimney of a neighbouring property collapsed and fell through the roof of his home. 

Holly Hickin represented a family in a two-day inquest commencing 24 July 2023 at Bradford Coroners Court. The Coroner was Mr Ian Pears, HM Assistant Coroner, West Yorkshire (Western).

MS tragically died when the chimney of the neighbouring property collapsed and fell through the roof of his home in August 2020. Concerns related to how the chimney came to fall. In establishing the same, the Coroner heard evidence from a builder, roofer and expert evidence from a quantity surveyor.
