A man who sexually abused two young girls has been jailed for 18 years.

John Bell from Gateshead, prosecuted by Anne Richardson, was sentenced on 25th January to 18 years custody and a year of extended licence. He was convicted of sexual assaulting a 3-4 year old and also the sexual assault and rape of a girl between the ages of 11 and 15 after a 5 day trial last year. Full media coverage can be found here.
