Pupil Deck – Charlotte Jones
September 14, 2026
Continuing our series of weekly introductions to our newest pupils, this week we are delighted to introduce Charlotte Jones, the third of four pupils undertaking pupillage with Dere Street Barristers in September.

After graduating from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts with a Diploma in Professional Dance, Charlotte studied Law at Durham University. Thereafter, she completed the Bar Practice Course alongside a master’s degree, graduating with a Distinction.
Throughout her studies she volunteered extensively, including working with the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and the NSPCC. She volunteered with the NSPCC in Grimsby, helping to develop supportive initiatives for families. Charlotte also completed several mini-pupillages and marshalled High Court Judges both on circuit and at the Royal Courts of Justice.
More recently, working as a County Court Advocate at LPC Law. She attended hearings on a wide range of civil matters, including small claims trials. This experience strengthened my oral and written advocacy skills, which she is eager to develop further during my pupillage.
In her spare time, she enjoy socialising with friends, along with travelling and exploring new cities. She is also a Pilates enthusiast and looks forward to trying out new studios in York.
Charlotte will be undertaking a common law pupillage, supervised by Michael Cahill
