Pupil Deck – Digna Kandrataviciute

As part of our weekly series welcoming our new pupils, this week, we are delighted to introduce our pupil, Digna Kandrataviciute, Please join us in giving Digna a very warm welcome as she begins her pupillage with chambers. Digna’s pupillage will be under the supervision of Tim Donnelly and Bea Dawson.

Prior to pupillage, Digna worked as a county court advocate on the North Eastern and London circuits. She was frequently instructed on busy possession lists and small claim matters.

She has gained experience working with vulnerable individuals in her possession matters as well as her prior volunteering experience at the witness support service and pro-bono legal advice to vulnerable immigrants. Digna is also fluent in Lithuanian.

Digna has undertaken several mini-pupillages in family, criminal and civil law at Dere Street as well as other chambers. She has also gained marshalling experience with circuit judges in family and criminal law.

Digna studied law at the University of Nottingham, during which she was awarded the Lord Denning Bar course scholarship and an academic commendation from the university. She completed the Bar course at Northumbria and was awarded the ‘Dere Street Family Law Prize’ for the highest marks in her assessment. She has also undertaken paid research work for the Law Commission on the property and trusts team and the land law team at the University of Nottingham.

At university, Digna competed in multiple advocacy competitions. She progressed to the finals of several national competitions and won ‘Best Advocate for the University of Nottingham’ and ‘Best Criminal Team’ in the 2022 ‘Battle of the Bars’.

Outside of work, Digna is a keen dancer and enjoys socialising with friends. Prior to pursuing law, she studied Theatre at the BRIT School amongst the likes of Raye and Olivia Dean.
