Pupil Deck – Nicoletta Gerakios

Over the coming weeks, we are delighted to introduce our pupils as they begin this important stage of their careers. First up is Nicoletta Gerakios, who joins us for her criminal pupillage under the supervision of Jane Waugh. We look forward to supporting her development and sharing more about her journey at the Bar.

Nicoletta studied her LLB at Newcastle University, where she won the university’s Advocacy Competition during her final year. She went on to study the Bar Course at the University of Law in Newcastle after securing a scholarship, where she was class representative and received 80% in her Clinical Legal Education final report.

Since graduating, Nicoletta has gained valuable experience working as a paralegal in a Newcastle law firm and then as the Northeastern Circuit caseworker at Advocate. Nicoletta was also a graduate of Bridging the Bar in 2025, gaining access to several programmes and training opportunities to prepare her for life at the Bar.

She has also volunteered for the CAIWU, NCDV, JUSTICE, and State2Bar; and carried out pro bono work through the University of Law’s clinic. 

Nicoletta has many hobbies outside of the Bar, including taking weekly dance classes and bouldering. When she’s not at the studio or climbing walls, Nicoletta is a keen reader and can be found with a fantasy book in her hands!
