Dere Street Barristers helping others!
Many Barristers at Dere Street have committed to donating a percentage of their gross income to the Dere Street Barristers’ Charitable Trust. This is a novel scheme for The Bar. All Members of Chambers, including staff, are able to propose charitable causes (both National and International) and the Trustees determine how the fund is distributed. To date in excess of £285,000.00 has been distributed via The Trust.
The sponsored charities for 2026 are:
LimbBo one of their main aims is to support children with a limb difference and their families.

Cornerstone Benwell who bring people together, offer support, and create opportunities for connection, creativity, and care.
MND Association who are there to help everyone living with and affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland access the help and support they need.

Care to Dance who aims to improve the wellbeing of care-experienced young people through dance, and to build inclusive communities where they feel safe, supported and can express themselves freely.
Applications are welcome from any charitable organisations. If you know of a project which requires financial assistance, please make an application: the Grant Application Form can be found here. Further details of when and how to make an application can be found here.
