Liam O’Brien Secures Acquittal

Liam O’Brien was instructed by Amy Lamb of David Gray LLP to represent a male accused of anally raping a teenage girl in 2002. The Accused, now in his forties, was found not guilty by the jury after less than one hour of deliberations.
The case notably featured a successful defence application to adduce hearsay evidence from an absent witness which contradicted the Complainant’s account of events said to have occurred shortly after the alleged offence.
