Amelia Taylor – Pupil

Amelia Taylor is a common law pupil under the supervision of Victoria Hajba-Ward.

Prior to pupillage, Amelia studied Law at Newcastle University, where she undertook pro-bono work on a Fitness to Practice case. This involved providing legal advice to clients facing proceedings by their regulator, through the Sequentus scheme.

Alongside her studies, Amelia developed skills transferable to the Bar by working as a Care Navigator for a Medical Group. In this role she interacted with patients during difficult life stages and triaged their care needs with sensitivity. She has also volunteered with the Independent Domestic Abuse Service in her local community.

Amelia has undertaken judicial marshalling placements in both Doncaster and London, together with several mini-pupillages, including with Dere Street Barristers.

Upon completing the Bar Course, Amelia was awarded the Lincoln House Chambers Criminal Advocacy Prize for achieving the highest combined results in Examination in Chief and Cross Examination in her cohort.
