Lidia Beqiraj – Pupil
Lidia is a family specialist pupil, under the supervision of Frazer McDermott.
She read Law at the University of Essex, graduating with First Class Honours. As part of her degree, she spent a year studying in the United States, where she was placed on the Dean’s List in recognition of academic excellence. During her time abroad, she also undertook an internship at a law firm, assisting the lead attorney with the drafting of pleadings in civil proceedings and with family law matters involving domestic abuse.
Lidia was awarded the Harmsworth Scholarship by Middle Temple. Before commencing pupillage, she gained valuable experience as a paralegal at firms including Irwin Mitchell, where she assisted partners and solicitors with private children cases and financial remedy proceedings, often involving complex issues.
Alongside her legal work, Lidia has undertaken a range of pro bono and voluntary roles. She has supported vulnerable clients through her work with the National Centre for Domestic Violence, and volunteered as an English Language Tutor for Conversation over Borders. These experiences have strengthened her ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and to deal sensitively with difficult issues.
