Pupillage at Dere Street Barristers

January is when the window of opportunity opens up for the Law students who have undertaken the Bar Course and have taken the next step in fulfilling their dreams of becoming the next generation of successful Barristers, helping to secure their future and future of the Bar.
We are a friendly and forward-thinking multidisciplinary set that is committed to investing in and nurturing the next generation of talent at the Bar.  Therefore, this month’s podcast from ‘The Advocates Lounge’ is brought to you by Katherine Walton and Jordan Parkinson who talk us through their pupillage experience and Dere Street.  This podcast has been well received by potential applicants wishing to apply for pupillage at Dere Street.
Katherine was called to the bar in 2022 and practices exclusively in Family Law and Jordan was called to the Bar in 2021 and practices exclusively in Criminal Law.  Both secured tenancy after successfully completing their specialist pupillage within Chambers.
We currently have 5 pupils undergoing their pupillage who will be on their feet in April of this year.  The competition for this year’s pupillage applications opened on 2nd January.
