Camp LimbBo 2024

Many Barristers at Dere Street have committed to donating a percentage of their gross income to the Dere Street Barristers’ Charitable Trust. The LimbBo Foundation is one of the Charities this year that is sponsored by the Trust.
The LimbBo Foundations is just one of this year’s beneficiary and one of our recent donations helped towards the setting up “Camp LimbBo 2024.”
Camp LimbBo 2024 took place at Hesley Wood scout centre. Including volunteers there were approximately 95 attendees over the weekend. Many families camped and a few stayed in the dormitories. Children took part in a range of activities – Climbing, canoeing, obstacle course, zip wire, crate stack, cresta run and an art session. The whole weekend was free of charge.

“You could actually see the children relaxing as the weekend progressed. They stopped hiding their limb difference, laughed, got muddy and tried everything.”

“We’ve had an amazing weekend, taking Arthur camping for the first time and to make it even better we were attending Camp LimbBo. A brilliant little event hosted by a charity that’s helped us immensely along the way since finding out about Arthur’s limb difference. We have met some amazing families and their children this weekend and feel so lucky to be a part of the LimbBo family. Everybody was so welcoming and Ifan has made so many new friends. We can’t wait to watch Arthur grow up alongside other children that are on a similar, or the same journey as him and just ‘get it’ Already looking forward to the next get together.”
