Andrew Pike successfully represents father alleged to have shaken his baby.

Andrew Pike, led by John Vater KC, has recently represented a father alleged to have inflicted closed head injuries to his baby by shaking them. The father’s case was that the baby had collapsed and become unresponsive, and that he inadvertently caused the acute head injuries as a result of his panicked attempts to resuscitate the baby and rush them to hospital. Following a contested Fact-Finding Hearing, no findings were made against the father and the care proceedings were withdrawn.
